The team at Edition Dog invited RFVS to attend their brilliant Edition Dog Live event for the second time on the 27th August.  We had a very successful and enjoyable day last year as you can see here in Laura’s blog so we didn’t hesitate to accept the invitation.

We were a small team (but we would argue, perfectly formed!) this year as we forbade Laura (Operations Manager) to join us as she’s expecting her second baby.  This is obviously wonderful news and very exciting, but we certainly missed her energy on the day.  This also explains the rather fewer photos of the event than were taken last year . . . .  Not our specialist subject !!

Dr Brendan Clarke, Dr Vicki Adams and I all arrived very early on a Sunday morning to set up a much larger stand than the first year. This was lovely as we had loads of space to chat to everyone.

It’s a fabulous event for connecting with our supporters and affiliate members as well as other friends, and the energy in the hall is something else.  There were many new exhibitors and so many interesting speakers and opportunities to learn.  I’m sure lots of dogs got lots of presents from tired humans on Sunday evening!  It’s great to see so many healthy real food treats and other enrichment opportunities for dogs all in one place.

It was wonderful to meet so many of our supporter members in person and put faces to online names.  We’re incredibly grateful to each of them who took the chance to donate to our very important crowd fund which is to help us get to more events, such as the London Vet Show, and (just as helpful!) to share it with their own networks.

A highlight of the day was meeting the amazing person who donated £1000 (I really should have asked if I could reveal who she is !).  It’s so satisfying to know that one private individual believes so strongly in what we’re striving to achieve and it was lovely to be able to thank her in person.  We’re obviously extremely grateful for any donations, large or small, but her generosity really assured us that we were doing the right thing in working so hard to get to the major veterinary CPD events to help our colleagues to better support their raw feeding clients.

Laura’s now busily following up on all the interest we had from companies wishing to join as Affiliate members and again, we’re very grateful to each and every affiliate member for their support.  We very much look forward to welcoming and getting to know the new ones, hopefully at our conference on 11th November 2023.
If you would like to learn more about the benefits of becoming an Affiliate, check out this table, and to apply, simply fill in this form.

As we reflect on Edition Dog Live 2023, we raise a toast to the forthcoming event in 2024. Together, we are making strides toward our mission, and with the continued support of our dedicated community, the future looks brighter than ever.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates on our journey!
